Instruction:

    • Explore Bloxels website, play Bloxels game in the app, read through tutorials
    • Students write down any questions they have as they explore
    • Decide on groupings of students
    • Spend a couple of sessions planning the game-premise, obstacles, characters, end goal and so on in any format selected. We used paper.
    • Work on developing or drawing characters on grid paper
    • Begin building game.
    • Each time we started working, we would view a new tutorial so the students were aware of that resource.
    • As we worked, students became quite proficient in different areas and would then become resident experts.
    • After ample time creating rooms, provide an opportunity for an organized evaluation system.
    • After giving feedback, give time for groups to digest that feedback and decide what changes they will need to make.
    • A cutoff date will need to be established or the kids will just continue to add and change game elements.
    • When complete, schedule time for kids to play one another's games.
