Light Pollution: A Showcase of 21st Century Aesthetics
Since the beginning of time, stars have been associated with hope and renewal but what if these stars were to disappear? Is there no longer space for ambition and change? These images provide a glance of the night sky, a black canvas, with no stars visible due to light pollution.
Light pollution has immense unpleasant effects on our planet earth and its people such as disturbed ecosystems and health problems. It is our hope that these images move you to reduce the usage of unnecessary light to protect our planet and our human health. Because while stars manifest aspiration, light pollution exhibits disruption. An act for the Earth is a star for the eye.
Once Upon a Tree
Once upon a time, there was a tree of knowledge that contained a forbidden fruit. This fruit was eaten by Adam and Eve despite being told not to. This act, in Biblical terms, is the reason for the heartache and struggles we all have now.
One act of error can lead to detrimental impacts in society no matter how inconsequential it may seem. For every tree chopped is a hastened role of climate change. But for every tree planted is one step against damage.
These images show the beauty of nature that we hope will not be destroyed. And it is our goal for this hope to be translated into you because every tree is a gift that we should cherish and protect.
Artistic Patriotism
Artwork is the tangible form of emotions and reflection. It has the power to create revolutions and start change. The pictures show two paintings created by Filipino artists in the National Museum of Fine Arts Philippines.
Art, in itself, is a great way to convey one’s notion and concepts but to create art and show nationalism towards one's country is beautiful. It is a great way to speak, to influence, and to question. Some Filipino artists include Earnest Conception, Ronald Ventura, and Leeroy New. It is important to show support to Filipino artists so that they can continue to do what they do and fulfill their mission for our country. Let us show our love to our country by supporting art that promotes the Philippines.
