Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Jubilee Christian Academy. This is flight JCA-2023. The local time is 12pm, Philippine Standard Time. For your safety, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened and keep the aisle clear until we are parked at the gate. Our teachers are on-board and here to guide us. Let’s get ready for take off and get to know our crew members better!
This year, we asked the following questions:
If you didn't work as an educator, what career would you have pursued? (Our teachers’ answers to this question is found in In-flight _____. )
What is your philosophy in life?
What is your most favorite memory while working in JCA?
What advice do you want to give your students for them to be able to achieve their goals?
Flight Crew, In-flight Medical Physicist: Mr. Justin O. Malasa
“Whatever you do, enjoy it to the fullest. I always keep this in mind whenever I face difficulties and struggles so that I am reminded that there is always something that can be enjoyed in everything.”
“My favorite memory in JCA was during my first day of reporting. I got confused of how the floors are numbered, so I got lost while trying to get to the Admin Office.”
“One step at a time. Do not be overburdened by tasks. Try to do them piece by piece so you get a sense of accomplishment. This feeling will get you going until you are able to finish all your tasks.”
Flight Crew, In-Flight Engineer: Mr. Rafael Arguelles
"Be the change that you wish to see in the world, by Mahatma Gandhi." This quote encourages me to take action to bring positive change in the world.
“My favorite memory in JCA is seeing the happy faces of my students after receiving their scores in every assessment.”
“You should find ways to connect your learnings to the real world. If you can do it, you are more likely to be motivated and engaged in learning new things.”
Flight Crew, In-Flight Lawyer: Mr. Fredirick M. Oro
“Work hard in silence, let success make the noise. If I want to achieve something whether for professional or personal growth, I make sure that only a few people know about it. This prevents others, who do not believe in my capacity, from discouraging me. My professional and personal milestones will speak for themselves.”
“So far is the day to day interaction with my students.”
“Never give up on your dreams.”
Flight Crew, In-flight Physician: Mr. Arvin S. Marasigan
“No regrets. My life right now isn't ideal and is nothing compared to what I have planned, but I know that in every decision that has lead me to right now, I have made it knowing that it was the best thing at that moment.”
"This is my first time teaching in High School and also the first time I received appreciation letters from students during Teachers / Appreciation day. I even have an AVP made for me. It was really heartwarming.”
“Hard work beats talent. I know that whatever you set your mind/heart into, you will achieve it. However, don't forget to always give back to the country, and the Filipino people. It will ultimately translate to us serving God.”
Cabin Crew, In-flight Paralegal Expert : Ms. Joanna Joy Feliciano
“Perfection and power are overrated. I think you are very wise to choose happiness and love by Iroh. In my life, I realized that no matter how I perfectly achieved something and gain power through it, if there are no happiness and love; then, I am just killing my passion. I used to be a perfectionist, I list down all the steps that I have to take and the specific time that these need to be accomplished. While this is good sometimes, in the long run, it has boxed me. So I started embracing spontaneity. I started pursuing happiness and love instead of perfection and power; and ironically, in the time of not pursuing it, I have somehow gained perfection and power as well. But now, it comes from within.”
“First day of reporting.“
“Sleep. Have a balanced life- acads and social life. Above all else, seek and acknowledge our source of wisdom- God.”
Cabin Crew, In-Flight : Ms. Thesally T. Dalisay
"It's okay to commit mistakes. What's important is you learn from those mistakes. This is one of my favorite quotes (I don't know who the writer is) because in learning Mathematics, it is common to commit mistakes especially when solving. What's important is when you commit mistakes, you do not dwell to much on it but instead learn from it and apply it on the next challenges you will face. Just like in life, we will commit mistakes all through out our lives because we are all humans after all. Learn from those mistakes and be a better version of ourselves.
“Telling stories to my students about my experiences, both as a student and as a teacher.”
“Focus on your goals and do what you love.”
You may now unfasten your seat belts and on behalf of Jubilee Christian Academy, thank you for joining us on this journey. We hope you enjoyed the flight!
