To legally drive in Japan, you will need to obtain a SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) licence. In Japan, drivers drive on the left side of the road, which means that the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. Road signs are also different in Japan.

Bring in a letter from your current insurance showing no accidents for 3 years for a discount.
