Age Requirements:
Children must be 5 years old by September 1 to register for Kindergarten.
Children must be 4 years old by September 1 to register for Sure Start (E1-E4 only)
Required Documents for Registering Students:
-Sponsor's orders indicating the command sponsorship of the student
-Shot Record
-Kindergarten and First Grade: Birth Certificate
-Letter of Employment (civilian sponsors)
Special Programs:
If your child participates in special programs (SpEd, Speech, ESL, Gifted), it would be helpful if you bring current copies of all documentation.
To expedite the continuation of Special Education services, please bring current IEPs, most recent evaluation, and progress reports.
Immunization Requirements:
In DoDEA schools, students shall meet specific immunization requirements.
The following immunizations are required to be completed prior to enrollment in DoDEA schools:
Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis: 4 doses with one after fourth birthday
Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis-booster): 1 dose at age 11 or older
Hepatitis B: 3 doses
Hepatitis A: 2 doses
Haemophilus Influenza type B: 4 doses
Measles/Mumps/Rubella: 2 doses
Polio Vaccine: 4 doses
Varicella (Chicken Pox): 2 doses or reliable history of disease
Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine: 1 dose at age 11 or older
Tuberculosis Testing: The frequency of PPD (TB) testing is directed by the
local medical command.
A Child Development Center (CDC) for military and civilian dependents ages 6 weeks to Kindergarten is available on base. Enrollment is on a space available basis; however, there are several home-based day care providers off base as well. Prices for the CDC are determined by rank or grade. As soon as you receive orders contact the CDC for enrollment information.
The School Age Center (SAC) is available for before and after school care for children. Prices for SAC are also determined by rank and grade. You may find additional information about the SAC here.
There is also a Youth and Teen Center for students ages 10-17.
