For this assignment, we had to make our own personal fonts with certain requirements. We had to make uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and some symbols. Then we had to put them in illustrator, and then into BirdFont to be sized and framed.
These are my sketches of the letters, numbers, and signs we had to make. Although it was difficult keeping everything the same size and straight.
This is the preview of my uppercase and lowercase letters on the Mac computer we used in class. It was a challenge downloading the font because something kept going wrong with the verification everytime, but later learned it was something with the file choice when downloading the font files.
This is the final product of my font. It didn't turn out how I thought it would the first time, then I redid it, and then I resized all of the letters and everything. First the spacing was too far away, and then it wasn't aligned, and then it was too close. As it was the end of the course, I couldn't redo it another time. But I learned that I needed more practice with BirdFont before using it. Even though I copied what my teacher did in the instructional video given, I couldn't set the letters up properly on the application used. Despite all of this, for my first time ever making a font, I'm proud of my work as I did do the best I could, and I tried continuously.
