Student Outcomes

The Student Outcomes take into account the different perspectives students have as they deepen their understanding of the CS practices and concepts. For Elementary schools, the Explorer and Creator outcomes help to set clear expectations for students engaged in computer science education. In addition, it provides concrete representation of what skills students will have by the end of 2nd and 5th Grade. Based on a schools implementation plan, some students may have the opportunity to work towards the Innovator outcomes.

At the beginning of their journey, students learn CS concepts and practices by manipulating physical models and working in guided digital environments.

Continuing on their journey, students excited by the possibilities of computing can use friendly, open-ended physical and digital tools to represent their ideas, thoughts, or interests.

Innovators consider open-ended questions about public, private and open-source computing.
