Social Studies

Fifth grade social studies will involve study of the following:

• The United States Constitution
• Native American Culture
• Colonization
• The American Revolution
• Founding Fathers
• Historical Documents
• The Civil War
• The Industrial Revolution
• Branches of Government
• Financial Literacy

Much of our social studies will be explored through content area reading and historical fiction texts. Our preparation for the Jamestown trip, learning experiences while there, and follow up when we return will be a big part of our social studies for the year.
