Parent communication is very important to me as we partner to make this a successful year. I will communicate with you in several ways:
Class Dojo: This is an easy to use communication tool. We can connect via the app or on a desktop. I can send messages and reminders. I love the Class Story component and will often share pictures of our classroom learning activities.
Rose Classroom News: I will send a weekly newsletter by email. If you request a paper copy of the newsletter, it will come home in your child's homework folder. You will also be able to access the newsletter on the Classroom News page of this website.
5th Grade with Mrs. Rose website: This site is a tool for you and also students. It has classroom and learning information for you. The students will use it to access sites and resources for learning.
Students will bring work home on Mondays in the "Keep at Home" pocket of their red communication folders. Please review the work to see samples of what they are learning and how they are doing. Keep in mind that some weeks will have few papers to be sent home since much of our learning doesn't lend itself to a worksheet; we will often use technology, whiteboards, reusable centers, or discussion-based activities to learn.
Progress Reports and Report Cards will be sent home at mid-quarter and at the end of each reporting period.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will officially be held on November 8; these conferences at the end of first quarter will be student led. We can meet or have a phone conference throughout the year as needed to make sure your child is making satisfactory learning progress.
