Feast of Corpus Christi this Sunday!

What does Corpus Christi mean?

The Latin words “Corpus Christi” translate to “Body of Christ.”

What does the Solemnity of Corpus Christi celebrate?

Also known as the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, this feast honors Jesus Christ, Really, Truly and Substantially Present under the appearances of bread and wine. This Presence happens through the change which the Church calls transubstantiation (“change of substance”), when at the Consecration of the Mass, the priest says the words which Christ Himself pronounced over bread and wine, “This is My Body,” “This is the chalice of My Blood,” “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

What should I do to celebrate?

There are several ways to celebrate this Feast! Join us at St. Margaret Mary following the Noon Mass from 1-2 PM for Adoration & Benediction. Or you can join the Archdiocesan Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday, June 19th, following Noon Mass at the Cathedral with Archbishop Shelton Fabre.

Coming this Fall: High School Bible Study!

Starting this fall, on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:35 p.m (the same time as PREP), StMM will be offering a high school group to gather for study, prayer, and fellowship. We will kick start our year with the new study from Mark Hart (The Bible Geek). More info on how to register will be coming soon!

Venture: The Bible Timeline for High School introduces teenagers to the “big picture” of salvation history in a way that is simple to understand and easy to teach. It uses the revolutionary Great Adventure Bible Timeline® Learning System that hundreds of thousands of Catholic adults have used to learn the Bible. This eight-lesson program will get teens to open their Bibles and learn the story of salvation history—from Genesis to Revelation—with a focus on God’s covenants and biblical characters. Once teens understand the Bible, their faith will become a relevant and indispensable part of their lives.

Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, engage in fun snack-eating experiences, take part in one-of-a-kind Bible Adventures, and test out gadgets & gizmos they will take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day wraps up at the Canyon. Crews gather for loads of fun-filled, surprising, audience-involving activities that reinforce the daily Bible Point!

Special Disciples of Jesus Mass & Reception

Each month, St. Margaret Mary welcomes everyone to our Special Disciples of Jesus Mass. We hope your family will join us as we invite all Special Needs family and friends to St. Margaret Mary on Sunday, June 26th at 3:00 PM with reception & fellowship following in the Hospitality Room.

We know Mass can be a struggle for many families, so we hope to have a beautiful, unique celebration together where all feel welcome. Just come as you are! Your family will be welcomed with open arms and will hopefully meet other families in similar situations. The Mass will be shorter and geared towards our children. We hope to foster a Catholic community here with fellowship following Mass, so stick around to meet other families and kids.

This month we also need volunteers to help as the Knights are providing a cookout. We need food runners and servers to help! If you are available, please click the button above to email Tara Mattingly or call her at 502-690-2851 to volunteer.
