AGAPE: High School Youth Group

Welcome to all young people in grades 9-12th and their families of St. Margaret Mary and the Archdiocese of Louisville. Here you will find all upcoming events for our Senior High youth ministry program. We can't wait to have you join us at one of our youth nights, social events, service experiences, retreats, or mission trip opportunities.

“I need nothing but God, and to lose myself in the heart of Jesus.”
~ St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

High School Advent Small Group

Introducing Emmanuel: An Advent Devotional. This daily devotional, written by Fr. Angelus Montgomery, CFR, and Sr. Karolyn Nunes, FSGM, invites you to encounter Emmanuel, the God who is with us, throughout the season of Advent.

Each day is structured using the Read, Reflect, React structure found in many of YDisciple's studies for teens. Featuring reflections on the daily Gospels, Emmanuel is a catalyst for a deeper, more authentic life of prayer as we prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas.

Our Small Group will meet the 4 Sundays of Advent: 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, and 12/18 at 6 PM following the 5 PM Mass in the Library Meeting Room. We will meet for about an hour to discuss our week, our reflections, and how Christ is moving in our lives. We will celebrate our community by coming together and lifting one another up. Feel free to sign up a friend to bring with you. All are welcome!

Upcoming Service Opportunities

Service opportunities are open to all 7-12th grade youth of the St. Margaret Mary Community (and friends) as of the 2022-2023 school year unless noted otherwise. Safe Environment Trained & Background Checked Adults may volunteer as space allows/chaperones.

Parish Christmas Caroling Service Opportunity

Do you like to sing? Do you enjoy putting a smile on someone's face? Join St. Margaret Mary Music and Youth & Young Adult Ministries as we partner on two upcoming dates for some Christmas Caroling! On Sunday, December 4th at 1:30 pm and Friday, December 9th at 5:30 pm we will be spreading some cheer via carols. Mark your calendars and sign up at the link below so we know you are joining us and we can have enough music. No experience needed. Great family opportunity!

Meet at 7:30 PM in the Hospitality Room to set up cookies and cocoa. When the program ends, help us hold the doors and invite people into the Hospitality Room, serve cookies and cocoa, and assist as needed. Around 8:30 PM we will start to clean up, we should be done by 9 PM.

Confirmation Youth: This is a wonderful Parish Service Opportunity for your Booklets.

Summer Mission Trip 2023

Early Bird Registration is Now Live!

This year our mission trip for the summer is to the Alive in You in Knoxville, TN! Alive in You is a Catholic mission trip & conference program (more details below) for middle school and high school students. We are adding on a “fun” day at the beginning of our trip, June 26. The trip itself is June 26-July 2. We are partnering with other parishes because that helps lower the cost of the trip for all of us, and allows us to bring more students. The trip is open to current seventh through twelfth graders who attend St. Edward, St. Margaret Mary, Immaculate Conception, or are registered in one of those churches youth groups.

We are charging $350 for the trip, even though the actual cost for each student is well over $500. An initial non-refundable deposit of $100 is due with registration in order to reserve spots. In order to alleviate this financial burden for families, we will be having several fundraisers in the coming months. The final payment for students will be due on May 15, 2023. Each parish has scholarships available, so please do not hesitate to reach out to your youth minister if cost is a worry for you.

About Alive in You: https://aliveinyou.com/

From their website: “The vision of Alive in You is to enable our participants to open their hearts and allow Christ to become the center of their lives. Our goal is to educate, motivate and provide young people with a life changing Catholic experience. Alive in You is grounded in the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church and we strive to provide the perfect balance of faith, service, education and fun. It is most important that our participants return home with a practical sense of how to live their faith. Through education and experiencing the Sacraments, they will have a renewed sense of their Catholic identity and a firm foundation to continue their walk with Christ.”

Let the Holy Family be your light through Advent as you receive the healing power of Christ.

In this beautiful guided journal for prayer and meditation, Sr. Miriam James Heidland, SOLT—author of the bestselling book Restore—will walk with you as you explore familial wounds with the help of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

Join us this Advent as we journey together with the Holy Family. Weekly gatherings to watch a video by Sr. Miriam James Heidland and discussions on that week's reflections will guide us as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Our first meeting will be on Sunday, November 27th at 7:30 PM.

Please contact Emileigh Ledgerwood with any questions. We hope you will join us this Advent as we journey together! All are welcome.

Young Adult Trip to SEEK23!

Do you hear it?

Wherever you are, whatever you do, right in this moment: You’re being called.

Not by the world, but by Someone not of this world. Not merely to survive, but to thrive in His abundance. Not for empty desires, but for the fullness of His promise of eternal life.

This January, we invite you to join us for SEEK23, a five-day event where you can leave old things behind and answer a new call to greatness, holiness, joy and mission.

Event Registration is $399 a person. The first 6 people to commit will receive a discounted rate of $290! (Event pass price increase takes place after November 15th.) FINAL DEADLINE: DECEMBER 18, 2022.

Stand up. Dust yourself off. It’s time to follow.

“Fear not; rise, He is calling you.” (Mk 10:49)
