Leaf Pumpkin
My students and I talked about how you can use other material beside the ones we use/have in class. We can add to them with things we find out side. Then I asked them to go outside and grab some dried leaf's. Once we had our leave. I gave them paper and glue. Then we drew Lightly a Pumpkin on the paper. Then I asked them to trace it with there glue. once everyone had there glue on the paper. They where then asked to tear there leaves up over the glued pumpkin. Once they was dried, we blew of the extra mess. This is what they where left with. They really enjoyed doing this. But it was a mess project. But they LOVED it!
Materials: Pencil, crayons, glue, dried leaf, and construction paper.

Christmas trees
For about 8 years, we here in the Art room make Christmas cards for the local hospital; Each class has a different theme.
Our wonderful Kindergarten made these Christmas Trees.
I gave them a 4 by 5 white card stock paper the I had folded. I had also put little cuts in theme. They then used pipe cleaners to place in the cuts to make a tree. But be for we finished the tree they put some beads on the pipe cleaners, for ornaments. Then they chose a bottom for the tree and put a start at the top. They then wrote something in the card. I think they came out perfectly.
Materials: pencil, crayons (for the inside of card) 4" by 5" paper, scissors. fun craft Christmas paper, green pipe cleaners, beads, and glue.

Spring Flowers
Kindergarten made these wonderful flowers from a straw.
We then cut the ends of the straw, up and down. Then pulled them apart, so that when we dipped them into the paint and pressed them down on to the paper. We would get a fun shape that looked like a flower! I gave them a cutout of a watering can. We tied yarn around it. then glued it down so that our flowers had a place to set in. A fun spring project!
Materials: pre-cutout of a watering can, yarn, tempea paint, scissors, and straws.
