Pete Max - Sunset
We did a study on Pete Max. Then I had my students draw a sunset and colored it in with oil pastels.
materials : 11by6 white paper, ruler, pencil, eraser, watercolors and a paint brush.

Our White Poplar Trees/cool colors
My students learned that they sometimes need Math in art! They where told to make a 1" boarder on the 11By 6 white paper. Then they where told to drawl a tree over the rectangle, it can have branches coming off the page. Then I had them following it up with watercolor (only using cool tones). The final touch was adding the ink to bring the tree to life.

Snail on a Leaf
For about 8 years, we here in the Art room make Christmas cards for the local hospital; Each class has a different theme.
Materials: Crayons, glue, scissors, green and color construction paper , and a set of plastic eyes.

Artistic Influence: The art of Keith Haring
I introduced Keith Haring to my students. We talked about color and his style.
Then I had my 4th graders spilt the paper into 4 sections. Then they added there own drawling, using Keith Haring influence.
Materials: 9by9 white paper, color markers and a black sharpie.
