Beetle Juice flower 

My amazing 7th graders really worked on trying to make this come to life.  They used Oil pastels and black sharpie or ink.  First they had to place a dot some where on page then  grow from it.  Every other sleeve had to have patterns in it. The other sleeves had to be in color. Using two oil pastels.  The object was to make that sleeve look  round.  They also used a black and white pastel to give shade and depth.

materials : 11by 17 white paper, pastel crayons and black ink pen or sharpie fine point.

Silent Night Christmas Card

For about 8 years, we here in the Art room make Christmas cards for the local hospital;  Each class has a different theme. 

My 7th students where given a card with the song "Silent Night".  They had to come up with an design  for the front  of the card. The inside they  found a religious poem or saying. They also could add a image if they wanted to. Here are only a few cards. 

Materials: Color pencils,  and a print out of the song "Silent Night".

Sean for Christmas Show

This year the 7th graders where ask to drawl a seen of Bethlehem or they could draw the lands.  Her are what some of them came up with. 

Materials: Color pencils,  and white  paper , 81/2by11.

Crazy Animals

Are last project together. 

For this project, I told them to draw 2 different size circles, that would become there animals eyes. They could draw any animal they wanted.

I think they had fun. They turned out amazing!!

materials :  white paper, pencil, eraser, markers, or color pastels (blender if you have one.).
