Wacky Color wheel Bird!
In 1st grade we started talking about the color wheel. We talked about primary and secondary colors.
I had them pick a primary color, then make a dot on the middle of the paper, then draw lines straight out in that color (Like if we where making a slice of cake). Then we choose a secondary color that the color we used came from - the primary color. We repeat the same as before till the wheel was complete.

Flamingos in the Garden
I made some temples for my students to trace the flamingo out. But before they could cut it out, they painted the hole sheet pink. On a 5by4 sheet of white paper. We drew a beak and a eye, outlining them with a black sharpie. I printed out a paper of leaves. They used watercolor to color the leaves in, by using cool colors. Then they cut and pasted everything together.
It was a fun project with a lot of different steps. They all have there own personalities.
Materials: Pink tempera paint, green watercolor, white crayons, glue, scissors, and black sharpie.
