Hedwig and Friends
My 3rd grade students are reading or having them read to, one of the book from "Harry Potter". So we thought it would be fun to have are own mail owl. My students took a old paper roll, then tore paper to make feathers. We also cut out two wings and a face from white paper. They tore paper again and put it on the wings. Then we made a face. You can see they turned out amazing. They even have a letter for Mr. Potter.
Materials: One toilet paper roll. Paper (white, black, or brown), glue, scissors, and markers for eyes and peak.

Different View's
My 3rd grade students did so well with drawling a snowman. We discussed about differ view of a snowmen.
We took a white 81/2 by 11 paper and folded it 2 times. to make 4 different squares. We only used 3 of the squares. Then I had them do close ups of what there snowman would look like, 3 different views. After they drew them up we started painting. Because a snowman is white, what would the shades be?
I am very proud of how they all turned out.
Materials: White paper, and black construction paper. Water colors, salt, black marker.
