Saint Pegs

This was a combined project with our wonderful Religion teacher.  In there religion class they got to choice and learn about there Saint.  

When they came into Art , they had a picture of there saint, painted on a peg.  This helped them create  there image. I helped where I was needed. Talked to them about placement of eyes, nose if had one, hair. 

They really did a outstanding job.  I didn't have to do much.  

What's wonderful about this project, is they had to duplicate how the first peg was painted on two more pegs. 

materials : wooden Pegs, acrylic paint, brushes, towels,  cup for water,  palette,  setting spray.

Winter  Christmas Card

For about 8 years, we here in the Art room make Christmas cards for the local hospital;  Each class has a different theme. 

In 8th grade I showed them different way to use lines with their paint brush and paint. We also talked about shadows. 

I think they did a wonderful job on this simplistic approach for this card. They where encouraged to paint a little something in side with the poem. Sorry I did not show this.

White and Space

We talked about using white space into our painting. I let them drawl what ever they wanted. They blocked out white areas with tape.

Crazy Animals

Are last project together. I had so much fun watching these students grow in there art. A lot of them, I've been with since Kindergarten. I'm truly going to miss them next year.

For this project, I told them to draw 2 different size circles, that would become there animals eyes. They could draw any animal they wanted.

I think they had fun. They turned out amazing!!
