What a fantastic Science Day we've had! The children looked great, dressed up as scientists, astronauts, doctors, nurses and more! We loved Mr Hempsley's assembly where he did a great scientific experiment. We were thinking about caterpillars and butterflies so we made paper chain caterpillars, symettrical butterflies and the life cycle of a butterfly. We also talked about camouflage and went outside looking for 'caterpillars' in different colours. We planted butterfly friendly seeds. Finally, in PE, we took away one of our senses and experienced games without sight or hearing.Â
This term in Science we have investigated our 5 Senses. Can the children tell you what they are? They had a very fun lesson experiencing being mini Scientists!
Our topic this term in science is all about materials. We have discussed different materials we can find and looked at their properties. Yesterday, we tested out which material would make a better boat and explained why.
