We reminded oursleves of all the continents and then learned about the animals that live there. We drew pictures of the animals and stuck them on the land or the sea.
We have been comparing physical and human features with Shanghai and Chesterfield. We drew a picture of what we thought it might look like out of the window of a school in both places.
We learned about the different continents in the world and then named them on our map.
We created our own maps of the playground in pairs. We used the key to draw features on the map.
We used simple maps to locate different features on the playground. It was a bit tricky working out which way around our maps went! We then had to work out on the map which tree we were stood next to in real life.
We recapped what aerial view meant and then made a map of our classroom from above for an alien who wanted to come and visit!
In our Geography lesson today, the children loved looking on Google Earth and zooming to different places!
We discussed the phrase "Aerial View" and how places look different from above. They used an aerial photo of the area around school to try and locate a field, trees, playground buildings and roads.
