7.7.25 Teddy Bear's Picnic
This afternoon we had a wonderful afternoon with Mrs Asquith and the Mini Vinnie's. They had organised a lovely afternoon of games including a rainbow treasure hunt, obstacle courses, making a bear from crafts and a bear themed story. We then had a biscuit and a drink with our teddy bears! Thank you to Mrs Asquith and the Mini Vinnies for organising this for us.
30.6.25 Parish Community
In RE today the children learnt that being a Christian means belonging to a commuity of faith. We looked at some of the roles that people have within church for example an altar service, people who clean the church, people who serve tea and coffee. We then had a member of our parish community, Mrs Asquith, come and talk to us about her role in the parish. The children thought of some interesting questions to ask her and listened really carefully. Thank you to Mrs Asquith for coming to talk to us today.
18.06.25 Celebration of the Word
Today, a group of children worked with Mrs Bunney to plan and prepare a class worship. They chose some music, wrote short prayers and read the scripture. It was amazing!
05.06.25 The Parish Church is a special place.
This afternoon, we walked across to the church and Michelle gave us a tour! She showed us lots of things and explained what they all were.

22.4.25 Jesus' friends spread the Good News about him.
15.4.25 I know that the Holy Spirit is our friend.
The children shared the story of Pentecost - we talked about the flames and the wind representing the Holy Spirit and the children made flames and doves, and played with streamers.
30.4.25 I know Jesus went back to his Father.
Today, we watched a video about Jesus' ascension into heaven. We recapped on the events of Easter and talked about Jesus going back to God in heaven. We also talked about how beautiful Heaven may be and took a walk around school to spot beautiful things that made us say "wow!"
7.4.25 I know that Jesus rose and everyone celebrates.
Today we learnt about Easter Sunday and the resurrection of Jesus. The children helped to collect natural objects and we have used these to make an Easter Garden. The children have then used this to retell the story of Easter Sunday with small world characters.
2.4.25 Holy Week is the last week of Lent - the children have talked about the events of Good Friday. We talked about how Jesus died to save us but God had a plan to bring Jesus back.
The children have made crosses using lollipop sticks, purple pipe cleaners and loose parts.

The Good Samaritan
Today we read the story of the Good Samaritan and acted this out as a class. We talked about how Lent is a time when we grow in love for others. We can do this by sharing what we have and being kind to one another. The children then thought of ways in which they could be kind and have made a Lenten promise which is now in our RE area. The children also played with dolls to show care and love towards them.

Today in RE we read the story of Jesus going to pray in the desert. We talked about how Lent is a time where we grow clower to Jesus. We can grow closer to Jesus when we pray. The children helped to make a special quiet place in the classroom where we could go and talk to Jesus.
5.3.25 Ash Wednesday
Mr Downing and Mrs Ragan visited our classroom today to give us our ashes for Ash Wednesday. We also read the story of Palm Sunday to help us understand where the leaves from the palms came from.
4.3.25 I know that we care for others in Lent
Today we explored the story Mama Panya's Pancakes. We learnt about how Mama Panya shared with others and others shared with her too. We talked about how Lent is a special time in the church's year where we try to think more of others than ourselves. We then had a lovely afternoon making and eating pancakes. We also made pretend pancakes in the mud kitchen, wrote lists of pancake ingredients and cut and stuck toppings onto pretend pancakes.
29.01.25 I know that Jesus takes care of everyone.
The children watched a video of the story of Jesus feeding the 5000. A little shared his 2 loaves and 5 fishes and Jesus performed a miracle! Together, we made some bread and shared it.
22.01.25 I know that Jesus welcomes everyone.
The children listened to a story about Jesus welcoming children and we talked about special places where we could be close to Jesus. We walked around school and spotted lots of special places:
15.01.25 I know that the Wise Men visited Jesus.
The children explored scripture to learn about the Wise Men visiting Jesus. They thought about the gifts the Wise Men brought and how we can give Jesus a gift by being kind.
5.12.24 I know Advent is a time to get ready for Christmas.
The children have learnt about the Advent Wreath today. We talked about Advent being a time of waiting and preparing for the birth of Jesus. The children learnt that the Wreath is a circle to represent God's everlasting love and that we have one white, three purple and one pink candle.

27.11.24 I know Shepherds visited Jesus in the stable.
We shared the Scripture of Luke 2:8-20. We learnt how the shepherds were given a very important job by God - to tell people the Good News about Jesus.
The children made beautiful stars.
21.11.24 I know Jesus was born in a stable and laid in a manger.
The children discussed that God chose a humble stable for the birthplace of His son and Mary had to use a manger for Jesus to sleep in.
14.11.24 I know that Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem.
The children have listened to the next part of the Christmas Story - when Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethelem to be counted. We had a look at a map to see how far Nazareth was from Bethelem (11 days to walk!) and created Bethlehem from wooden blocks.
I know that Mary was chosen by God to be Jesus’ mother.
We started our new RE topic by sharing the story of Mary and the Angel. The children listened to the story and learned how Angel Gabriel came to tell Mary that she was going to have a baby boy. He was the Son of God and he must be named Jesus.

24.10.24 I know we are all invited to be part of God’s family.
The children have had a fantastic RE lesson today - all about Baptism. We watched a video to learn about what happens during a Baptism and then we had a go at re-enacting a Baptism to further their understanding. The children then had chance to explore the resources in the continuous provision.
02.10.24 I know we should look after ourselves and others.
This week, the children revisited the creation story and understood that, because God made everything in our world, we need to look after it. We talked about how we could look after ourselves and our world e.g. feeding the wild birds.
The children used fruit and vegetables to print pictures.
23.9.24 I know that God loves me and I am part of a family.
This week, the children listened to the story "Guess how much I love you" and talked about our families being a gift from God. The children enjoyed sharing pictures of their families and talking about special times.
We have added pebbles into the RE provision to create families.
16.9.24 I know that God made me
This week, the children have enjoyed listening to the story of creation - focusing on God making people and ensuring that they understand that God made the first man and woman, and us! We talked about how God made us all different and special.
