We practised ball skills this week in PE. We warmed up playing a fun game called Rabbit Holes and then explored using a bean bag and the different things that we could do with it. Some children balanced them on different parts of their bodies, others threw and caught them. We also practised sliding them along the floor. We then used a ball before finishing with a few team games.

We practised balancing today. The children balanced on the floor to start. we balanced on different parts of our bodies, our feet, hands, bottoms, backs and tummies before then performing these balances on the benches.

We warmed up at the start of the lesson today by moving like different animals (e.g a crab, giraffe, horse, gorilla). We then used the benches and mats and travelled ablong the benches in various ways. The children mved by balancing walking, straight walking, sliding and bottom sliding. We finished the session with a game of 'The floor is lava' which they loved!

Today was our first Gymnastics lesson. The children warmed up by travelling around the hall and then making a body shape with a part of their body touching the floor. They then had to try and hold this shape still for 10 seconds. We then practised moving across the gym mats in different ways. We moved across the mats by a pencil roll, hopscotch, jumping jacks, bear walks and a snake slither!

We enjoyed our PE session this morning. We warmed up by playing follow my leader as a whole class before playing it in our groups. We had to copy and follow what the person at the front was doing and how they moved. We then practised moving and dacning t music pretending to be Christmas characters. We moved and danced like an Elf, Santa Claus and finally Elsa or Olaf the snowman! We ended the session buy again moving as if we were feeling a particular emotion, for example, happy, sad, anxious, angry, excited.

21.11.24 The children had a Samba Tots session this morning - it was amazing! They went to the beach, the jungle and drove round the city.

Today in our PE lesson we moved like a fairytake character. We thought about different movements Goldilocks may have made (eating porridge, sitting in chairs, lying in beds and running away) amd performed these to music.
At the end of the session we listened to the whole story of Goldilocks and acted this out!

The children loved their PE session this morning. We warmed up by moving in a way to try and express an emotion, for example moving in a happy, sad, excited way. Then we listed to some different genre's of music and tried to move our bodies in a way that represented the music. we thought about whether the music was fast or slow and relevant movemtns that we could make.

In our PE lesson this week we went on a pretend journey to the jungle! The children had to listen carefully to a story and act out what was happening. We imagined we saw some animals in the jungle and we moved like these animals!
We finished the session with a game where we were driving cars. The children had to listen carefully to instructions and carry these out.
24.9.24 Dough Disco
Every morning the children take part in dough disco. This is where we use our fingers to 'dance' in playdough to help strengthen them and prepare us for writing. The children have really enjoyed this so far!

Today in PE the children enjoyed playing more movement games. We played traffic lights, stopping and starting on different commands, and rabbit holes where we had to return to our own cone on a signal. We finished the session with a game where we had to creep up on an adult when they were not looking then freeze when they turned round. Well done everyone!
17.9.24 Our first PE lesson!
The children were very excited to go into the hall for their first PE lesson! We began with a warm up and then played soe movement games. We enjoyed playing a game called islands and another where we were trains visiting as many stations as possible!
