Attendance

Our Target is: 95%

Thank you for your support in improving our whole school attendance. Our Junior School attendance is better than the national benchmark,  our Infant School attendance is in line with national.

Please support our continued improvement in attendance by having your child in school on time everyday.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to our new newsletter! Months ago, I asked you for your feedback regarding our school newsletter as I believed it could be much improved. It was great to see that the majority of our parents were of the same view and whilst it is great for the Headteacher to share news and updates from across the schools, I think the children (their learning and educational journey) should be at the centre of all we do.

From next week, each phase will share the learning happening in their classrooms and a subject leader will update you about their subject. We are blessed to have such an engaged and committed parent community so our Pastoral team will give you frequent updates too (Inclusion, Safeguarding, Wellbeing).

Our newsletter will progress over time so that you all get a better look at life at St. Joseph's week by week. I would like to thank you all for your input and patience. Bit by bit, we are all working hard to improve all aspects of provision for our whole school community.

On Tuesday the children had their class pictures taken on the field. The sun came out to ensure that the morning went smoothly and it was wonderful to see the children dressed so smartly in their school uniforms. The children enjoyed telling me about their photo preparation. Thank you for your support with this, I have seen many of the pictures and I know that they will warm your heart.

On Thursday, our school was closed due to Polling Day. The team used this day to complete training to enhance the quality of teaching and learning further. Our Year 6 children were in attendance, learning in preparation for their SATs. We put on a special lunch for them before they left for the afternoon. Thanks to all the Y6 parents for getting your child to school. I have never worked in such a supportive school community and our children are lucky to have you.

On Friday, our Y3/4 children took part in Bikeability Training. Mr Abrahams was adamant that the rain wouldn't stop them from learning and the children completed their course outdoors. The children seemed to have responded well and I hope all of them improved their riding skills.

Please remember that if you have an issue or concern, your child's class teacher is the first point of call to get any support. They are with your child everyday and our teaching team is very nurturing and knowledgeable. If your issue isn't resolved you can contact the school office or ask any member of the Leadership Team. We are here to help and want to work with you to ensure your child has the best educational journey possible.

Remember it's Bank holiday Monday, so there will be no school on Monday. The children have told me that they are looking forward to an extra day of rest. Hopefully, it is sunny and all get to do something we enjoy.

I hope you and your family have a great weekend,

Mrs Ashley and The St. Joseph's Team

The London Mini Marathon

Mini Marathon Success

We are thrilled to share with you the resounding success of our participation in the London Mini Marathon this past Saturday. 45 committed children from our school took part in this exhilarating event, each running a remarkable 2.6 kilometers!

The London Mini Marathon is not just a race; it is a testament to the dedication, determination and sportsmanship of our students. Witnessing them give their all on the course filled our hearts with pride and admiration. Their commitment to training and their exemplary performance on the day are a true reflection of the values we strive to instill in our students.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and caregivers who came out to support our young athletes. Your encouragement and presence undoubtedly played a significant role in their achievements. Your unwavering support is deeply appreciated.

Furthermore, we would like to express our sincerest thanks to Mrs. Mangan, Mrs. Burgess, and Miss Hayter for their exceptional support and guidance throughout the event and for giving up their Saturday morning to be there. Their dedication to our students and their commitment to ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for all involved is truly commendable.

Once again, congratulations to our incredible students for their outstanding performance at the London Mini Marathon. We couldn't be prouder of their achievements, and we look forward to celebrating many more successes together in the future.
