All students preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation are required to provide proof of Baptism, preferably a copy of their Baptismal Certificate, if they were not baptized at St. John, St. Paul or St. James.  Please click on the icon below to upload your Baptismal Certificate.

Each Confirmation preparation student completes 25 hours of Community Service over the course of the two-year Confirmation Preparation Program.  Please click the link below to find service ideas.  Students keep track of their own hours and will report their hours all at once after the requirement forms are released in January.

If you are having any trouble finding Community Service please contact Christina Messore and she will be able to help you.

We feel strongly that preparing students for Confirmation includes a familiarity with Sunday Mass.  For this reason we expect regular Mass attendance as part of our program.  If your child is not comfortable attending Mass in person there are many options to attend "virtually". Live Masses can be accessed at the top of the front page of he Collaborative website by clicking either "St. John Livestream" or "St. Paul Livestream".  If you want to watch a recorded Mass simply click the red Youtube icon to the right of that.  When attending Mass at St. John or St. Paul, students will “check in” using their smartphones to scan a QR code posted in the entryways of the churches, click here to see the process.  Click here for St. Paul locations and click here for St. John locations. To report Attendance at an outside parish or a virtual Mass is reported via the Mass Attendance form which can be accessed by clicking the icon below.

CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES

Students will receive Confirmation upon completion of their second year of preparation (Confirmation II)

The following forms need to be completed by our Confirmation candidates (10th graders) by March 1st.  The details of what is included in these forms can be found in the Confirmation Program Requirements Document that can be found at the top of this form.  Forms will become available in January.

Our Confirmation 2 retreat consists of a technology-free two-day retreat on November 17-18th. We want to provide our students with a fulfilling and impactful spiritual experience. We need them to step away from their daily routines so they can focus on rest, reflection, prayer, community and their faith.  All students and parents need to complete the Retreat Registration and Permission Form  by November 1st in order for a student to attend the retreat.

Please note that this retreat focuses on the sacrament of Confirmation. We understand that students in the program may attend other retreats but we feel that it is important for them to attend this retreat to reflect on their faith journey leading to Confirmation.

We can accommodate for conflicts on a case by case basis. Please be mindful in your decision making as this retreat is a vital experience for Confirmation Candidates that we hope you will prioritize. If you are unable to attend please email Christina Messore at christina.messore@sjspwellesley.org to discuss specific arrangements.
