Roberto Cuadra – Snickers Commercial

I created this with a few people on a phone in Applied Business Tech 2. We had to create a Super Bowl ad. it took us roughly 3 hours.

Serenity Burton and Jack Lopresti –Jones Soda Project

Sponsor: Mrs. Mellott

The project was to come up with a Jones Soda brand and five different flavors. We had to come up with a clever way to market and sell the product. We chose to do that through a commercial and flyer.

After dramatic acting out the play Hamlet in Honors English 11, Mrs. Culver gave us a choice to either recite lines from Hamlet or any Shakespeare sonnet or create a video reviewing a movie adaptation of Hamlet. I decided to watch a movie and give a review. To create the video I used my phone to film and iMovie on my laptop to edit. I spent approximately about three hours working on this project. It took me about two hours to watch the movie and then an additional hour to film and edit the video.

Gideon Maxim – Beowulf Film

I worked with a group in my english class to bring you this film. I helped eddite and bring together the video in order to represent an epic poem in funny entertaining way.

Owen Faulkner, Savannah Verhage, Emily Kochs, Justice Waldmann – Beowulf: The Battle With Grendel

Sponsor: Mrs. Becker

This project was derived from an Honors English 11 video project where teams of four were required to select a scene from the epic poem, Beowulf, and make a film adaptation of what we read. We had basic requirements to stay mostly accurate to the content of the epic, as well as include some lines straight from the poem, though our group wanted to do this and beyond, having fun creating details of our own and pulling in extra people for more characters. The whole process took just around 3 weeks, with filming occurring on the first two and all the editing on the last. Our group is quite proud of this fun adaptation of Beowulf's battle with the flesh-eating giant, Grendel, and are simply glad to share it. Enjoy!

Norah Judge, Sylvia Park, Dylan Thomsen, and Marcus Kaiser – Bye Bye Beowulf

Sponsor: Mrs. Becker

This was an English assignment while we were reading the epic poem, Beowulf. The assignment was to "create a film of a scene from Beowulf that includes real actors--you and your team--and stays true to the themes and values of the original poem." We also had to include textual evidence: an Anglo-Saxon value from your selection, at least one trait of the Epic Hero shown in your selection, a kenning from your selection, alliteration from your selection, evidence of Christian influence on the poem in your selection, and a clear portrayal of a theme from your selection. We used an iPhone to film the close-up scenes and a drone to film the scenes from far away. Including the time it took to create the story board, write the script, find textual evidence, film the video, and edit it together, we spent about 5-6 hours on this.

Ella Ott, Tyler Meier, Grace Portenga, Mikaela VanHoven – Lord of the Flies Tik Tok

Sponsor: Mrs. Culver

Over the summer, we all read Lord of the Flies. We were assigned to make a film, and as a group we decided to hop on the trend of tik tok. Together we filmed the clips and later edited them.

Ella Ott, Mikaela Van Hoven, Robert Taylor, Justin Leany – Beowulf's Last Battle

Sponsor: Mrs. Culver

This project was for an assignment in English class--we had to recreate a scene from the epic poem, Beowulf. Prior to filming the video, our team wrote a script/storyboard to plan the plot of the video. With homemade props and costumes, we went to a local park to film the video. This took roughly one hour to complete. After filming, we edited the scenes together on iMovie, and we added music, sound effects, and special effects. This part of the process probably took about one to two hours.

Kate Gersonde, Julia Adent, Lucas White, Justin Sortland – Auditions for the Death of Beowulf

Sponsor: Mrs. Culver

This is the story of how a casting director imagines the actors portraying each role as they audition to be in his film, called "The Death of Beowulf." The lines read come from the old epic poem called "Beowulf." Our assignment was to recite lines from Beowulf with our own spin on them. It took us 1-2 hours to film and about an hour to edit the video on IMovie.

Evan Gregory, Jordan Block, Tiana Keeler – Beowulf Introduction: Grendel

Sponsor: Mrs. Culver

In our Honors English 11 class, we were assigned to create a video for a scene from the epic poem Beowulf. We created our project based on a section of Beowulf titled "Grendel." Before filming, we sketched out a quick storyboard and created a script that would lay over top of our movie trailer. Next, we found a spot within the school to film our video, switching off camera people when it was necessary. Finally, the pieces of the film were put together in WeVideo and edited with special effects and music (which, special credit to our teammate Evan for the epic editing). Overall, we would say that the project took approximately 8 hours to complete from start to finish.

Anna Miesse, Ben Williams, Robert Taylor, Jordan Block – Lord of the Debate

Sponsor: Mrs. Culver

We read Lord of the Flies by William Golding over the summer for English class, and our assignment was to create a video portraying an aspect of the book. We chose to focus on the rising tensions and differing opinions between Ralph and Jack. We had a few days to plan the project and write a script, and we filmed during class one day. We edited the video using WeVideo. The whole project probably took about six hours to plan, film, edit, and finalize.

Morgan Covert, Justin Leany, Michaela Hadaway, Veronica Sellin – Lord of the Millennials

Mrs. Culver

As a group project, we created this video using iMovie and a phone camera. We were tasked to make a spinoff of a scene in the book. We spent a week putting everything together. It was filmed in my backyard.

Justin Farrish, Hannah Pallo, Olivia Veersma, Kennedy Yeager, Madison Jackson – CTE Commercial

Sponsor: Mrs. Mellott

We created a CTE commercial for our marketing class, to show what goes on inside marketing and it was put on the news to draw kids to join. We used Imovie to make the commercial and youtube to get a sound for the commercial. We spent about 5 hours in total making it.

Julia Adent, Luke Bingaman, Nick Clancy, Kate Gersonde, Athan Gregory, Anna Nobouphasavanh, Kiersten Olson, Abby Peterson – Survivor of the Flies

Sponsor: Mrs. Culver

Survivor of the Flies is a parody of "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding and the TV series, "Survivor." We filmed the video using our phones and equipments provided by our teammates. We decided it'd be best to film on the beach because it would give off that "island type feel." The editing software we used what Final Cut Pro X. The assignment was to use our creativity and understanding of "Lord of the Flies" and produce a video. We spent two class hours working on the script and story boarding and did the rest at home. The filming process took about three to four hours. The longest part was retrieving the video clips from other members and placing them into FCPX. It took an hour to get all the clips together and an hour to place them in order. It took ten hours at most to add everything, for example, sound effects, the color wheel, and fixing the audio. It's about sixteen hours in total, but it was fun editing it.
