Narrative

Pedagogical Purpose

A narrative video tells a story with characters, a plot, a conflict, and a resolution. It will be less directly instructional than some other video types. Instead, it offers context into how other lesson content applies in practice or provides a scenario for further analysis and discussion.

The stories they tell may be historical examples or fictional accounts. Either is an option, though it should be clear which is which.

Narratives often use extraordinary real-world examples that illustrate unusual but educational events or, conversely, more common fictionalized examples that illustrate common scenarios and dynamics.
