What is the instructional modality of the video? How will it serve learning objectives and fit in with the other course elements? This has as much to do with the structure of the content as it does with the format of the video. Videos that look very similar or that follow a very similar production process might nonetheless fill a very different role in the context of the full course. Thinking intentionally about that role is essential.
