My name is Norine Ornelas. I have had the privilege of being a part of the St. Dorothy family (Go Bruins) since 2016. This is my 14th year teaching.
I was born and raised in Mar Vista, California. After getting married in 2003, I moved to West Covina. My husband and I have 3 beautiful children.
I graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1994. After that, I went on to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Multicultural Studies from California State University, Long Beach. In 2003, I started my teaching career in 2nd grade. Shortly after, in 2005, I began teaching Kindergarten. In 2008, I furthered my education by obtaining my Master's Degree and Teaching Credential at Loyola Marymount University.
My educational philosophy is recognizing children as strong, competent, and curious individuals, who have a desire to learn, grow, and communicate with others. In my Transitional Kindergarten classroom, I strive to create and maintain an environment where children can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them.
