My name is Lizette Alvarez. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I attended St. Paul Elementary School and continued my Catholic education at St. Mary's Academy. I earned my Bachelors degree in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Following graduation, I began working as a residential counselor and then became school behavior therapist. While working in a school setting, I felt a strong connection to education and decided to return to school to pursue a career in Teaching. I completed my Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Los Angeles.
In 2014, I began student teaching in a fourth and fifth grade combo along with substituting in multiple grade levels. In 2016, I join the St. Dorothy family as the fourth grade teacher.
I currently reside in Upland, California with my husband, three children, and dog. Our oldest daughter attends St. Dorothy School and our second oldest will begin TK this upcoming school year (2018-2019). I feel truly blessed to be a part of such a caring community not only as a teacher, but as a parent and parishioner as well.
