News from Second Grade

March 25-March 29, 2019

I am a BRUIN!

I Believe, I am Responsible, I Use my words, I am Involved, I am Nourished in mind, body, and soul!

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today, our students made butter and participated in a Gold Rush with their fourth grade prayer partners! Students found gold on the playground and were able to purchase goods!

We will be taking a class field trip to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 30. I have requested a bus for our transportation. If we are able to get one, we will travel by bus; otherwise, we will take a ride on the Metro. While at the museum, we will be participating in a Nature Lab at 9:30 a.m. and the Antarctic Dinosaurs Exhibit at 11:00 a.m. If you are interested in chaperoning a small group and you are fingerprinted and Virtus trained, please let me know by writing a quick note or send me an email.

Our next Reading Fluency Assessment on “Finding the Present” is rescheduled for this Thursday. Our goal will be set at 130 words correct per minute. Please help your child to study and prepare.

Tomorrow, we will have our Chapter 12 Test for religion. I will send the religion books home tonight to study and prepare. Friday we will have our spelling test. Have a wonderful week!
