Y12 University Open Days / Y13 Offer holders' Days. If you wish to attend any days this year, please remember to fill in a form each time.
The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund is money provided by the government for schools to support disadvantaged students to overcome financial barriers to participation in education.
A bursary is money that you, or St Bart’s on your behalf, can use to pay for things like:
trips, books and other equipment to support your course
transport and lunch on days you attend Sixth Form
contributions to train travel for university open days
There are two types of 16 to 19 Bursary available:
Vulnerable Bursary
Discretionary Bursary
To receive either Bursary you must be aged 16 or over but under 19 on 31 August 2025. Students aged 19 or over are only eligible to receive a Discretionary Bursary if they are continuing on a study programme they began aged 16 to 18 (‘19+ continuers’) or have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Check your eligibility by reading our Bursary Guidance Sheet - available below.
If you think you may qualify for a Vulnerable Bursary or Discretionary Bursary, please contact:
The Sixth Form team via email: sixthform@stbarts.co.uk
You are welcome to discuss the 16 to 19 Bursary with any of the Sixth Form team and, should you wish to apply, you will be directed to our bursary portal where you can make an online application.
