Mission Statement: The NACAC is working to improve New Americans' access to and knowledge of state programs and services. The committee works to:
Invite and collect feedback and experiences on key topics affecting immigrants and refugees across Colorado.
Review state-led programs and initiatives and make recommendations for improving immigrant inclusion and access.
Strengthen committee members' understanding of how state government works to build a statewide network of leaders who can help bridge between state government and communities ongoing"
Time Commitment: Terms are 2 years, with chance to renew once. Meet once per month for 90 minutes.
Membership Criteria: Individuals must be a refugee or an immigrant. All immigration statuses, national origins, languages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, abilities, etc. are welcomed.
Compensation: $599/year. Goal is to stay below IRS reporting threshold for individuals unable to accept payments above $600 due to immigration status reasons. Note that we have not consistently been able to pay members due to ONA's budget. Can you double-check with us before you publish? I can let you know if this answer toggles to an official 'no' if funding looks not possible ongoing.
