Create a new part file
Design a base that meets size requirements
3" width x 3" depth maximum
1.5" Height mandatory
Base walls should be .1" thick
Base does NOT need to be a square!
Make sure your base has a 1/8" slot for the acrylic in the top
Add .005" tolerance to the width of the acrylic slot for a friction fit
The base should have a .5" hole for the LED, with supports that friction fit holds the LED inside the base
Create drawing file
As shown to the left - dimension height, width & depth
Front (bottom), section view and isometric view
Find a usable image from the internet
Use the snip tool to crop and save your image
Screenshot as close to the image as possible
Your image will be saved in Pictures < Screenshots
Copy and paste your image to your H:Drive < LED Sign Folder
Create a new part file
Start a 2D Sketch and import the image using the image tool from the ribbon
If you do not see the image in your H:Drive, make sure the image you saved was a JPEG
Dimension the longest side of your image to meet constraints
Acrylic maximum size is 4" x 4"
Finish Sketch
Create a new sketch
MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT SKETCHING ON THE SAME SKETCH AS YOUR IMAGE
Use 2D sketch tools to draw the outline of your desired acrylic shape to be cut
This outline should just be the perimeter of your desired cut
Leave space between this outline and where your details will be
Be sure to include .25" of material to fit into the base
Include a hole/arc to fit your LED
Finish Sketch
You should still be able to see your image
If your sketch disappeared, you drew your outline on the same sketch as your image, they need to be two different sketches
Create a new sketch on the top side of your image
Use 2D sketch tools to trace detail lines from your image
These lines will be engraved into your acrylic (not cut)
Finish Sketch
Hide the visibility of your image by right-clicking on the sketch and deselecting visibility
Save this file as "Acrylic Design" in your H:Drive < LED Sign Folder
Create a new drawing sheet
Edit sheet size to B
Delete the title block and boarder so you are left with a blank sheet
Place your Acrylic Design file in the correct view
Scale should be 1:1
You need to change the color of the outline that you want cut to red
Select lines by clicking on them (hold ctrl to select multiple lines at once)
With the lines selected, right click, select properties
Save the .dwg file to your LED Sign Folder
Export a .PDF to your LED Sign Folder
