Dr. Young Park
Steinway Artist Young Park enjoys a versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician, collaborator, and an educator. She has performed internationally, including Mozart’s Piano Concerto in E-flat Major, K. 482 with the Vienna International Orchestra in Austria. Her awards include Full Scholarship at Nordman Piano Competition at Juilliard Pre-College, First Prizes at the American Protégé International Piano Competition, the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, the Young Artist Competition in New Jersey, and Fourth Prize at the Beethoven Piano Sonata International Competition.
Born in Japan and raised in South Korea, Dr. Park moved to New York City at age 14 to study at the Juilliard School Pre-College Division, later earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Herbert Stessin. She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University under the guidance of Dr. Min Kwon.
Dr. Park has served as Head Faculty at Angelos Mission Ensemble, as an Adjunct Professor at Norwalk Community College, and as Founder and Director of Young Park & Friends, a monthly concert series at James Lenox House in New York City. She currently serves as pianist at Haeun Church in Queens, Director of the Ensemble 212 Young Artist Competition, and maintains a private piano studio.
Dr. Park considers it a privilege to share her love and knowledge of music with her colleagues and students. Her lessons are filled with equal amounts of talent and warmth.
