Orchestra
This is a performance course designed specifically for Orchestral Instrumentalists of varied ability. Through technical direction, sectional practice, ensemble technique, and aesthetic overview, the student develops skills necessary for the critical performance of symphonic literature. Members of the Orchestra are required to perform in the Christmas and Spring Concerts. Private study is encouraged for all; however, private study is required for all pianists.
This course is offered to student's in grade 9-12
Pre-requisite: Audition and Approval of Department Chair Required
Orchestra Honors
To enter this Honors course, a minimum of 95% average and a teacher recommendation is required. Private lessons are required. Only students with top seating assingments will be considered. Students must serve in a leadership position.
In addition to Orchestra, students may be asked to perform with our Chamber Music Ensemble.
Attendance at one extra in school performance is required per quarter.
Performances may include Open Houses, Art Shows, Christmas Caroling, etc.
Additionally, historical and musical analysis of the compositions being performed, with assingments and academic reports, are an integral component of this class.

Freshman will be considered for Honors in their Sophmore year
