Mr. Frederick Trumpy is a drummer, percussionist, chamber musician and devoted teacher.
Mr. Trumpy joined the St. Anthony's faculty in 2023 as our percussion specialist teaching our Percussion Ensemble, as well as percussion lessons to students in the Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Highland Drumming groups. He currently serves as the Director of the Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble as well as the Assistant Director to the Orchestra and Symphonic Band. Mr. Trumpy also teaches our Music Theory class and continues to serve as our percussion specialist and lesson instructor.
Mr. Trumpy is also currently the director of Gamelan Yowana Sari at The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, teaching traditional, contemporary and commissioned Balinese music.
He has instructed through many different organizations including Midori and Friends, United Nations International School, The Special Music School, Cambria Center for the Gifted Child, Face the Music Ensemble and The Kupferberg Center for the Arts’ outreach program Cultural After School Adventures Program.
Mr. Trumpy can be heard on the German label Yo-Yo Records and American labels including Fear Icon Records, Jetsam Flotsam Records, Better Days Will Haunt You Tapes, UnBuckled Records, and Listen Up!
Mr. Trumpy teaches his lessons with engagement and enthusiasm. He is a master at his craft and adds a dynamic and creative style in all his work.
