Frederick Trumpy is a drummer, percussionist, chamber musician and devoted teacher.  

Fred joined the St. Anthony's faculty in 2023 as our percussion specialist teaching our Percussion Ensemble, as well as percussion lessons to students in the Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Highland Drumming groups. He currently serves as the Director of the Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble as well as the Assistant Director to the Orchestra and Symphonic Band. Fred also teaches our Music Theory class and continues to serve as our percussion specialist and lesson instructor. 

Fred is also currently the director of Gamelan Yowana Sari at The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, teaching traditional, contemporary and commissioned Balinese music.  

He has instructed through many different organizations including Midori and Friends, United Nations International School, The Special Music School, Cambria Center for the Gifted Child, Face the Music Ensemble and The Kupferberg Center for the Arts’ outreach program Cultural After School Adventures Program.
