Description:

AVID is an elective class for students who want to succeed in school and in life! AVID students will learn about college, and what it takes to get there, become leaders in their school and community. They will challenge themselves academically, and learn to think outside the box. AVID students are expected to maintain a 2.5 GPA in all classes, model exemplary behavior, and have consistent attendance. Students must complete an application and interview process and be approved by the AVID site team in order to take this elective course. Students who plan to attend a four-year college and have at least a B/C+ average are encouraged to apply. Students currently in AVID will continue in eighth grade. (Yearlong Course)
