Language Arts Intervention course is designed to improve the reading and writing skills of students who are performing below grade level. The course promotes essential literacy and thinking skills required for students to acquire new information independently as lifelong learners. The goal for students in this course is to demonstrate accelerated growth in Language Arts.

Pre AP Language Arts is a course in which students experience shared instructional practices and routines that help them develop and strengthen the important critical thinking skills that will help them achieve their full potential. Students will be engaged in evidence-based writing, rigorous standards-based course work, and opportunities to engage with peers for discussion. The goal of this course is to prepare students for advanced placement courses at the high school.

Honor Bound is a Pre AP Multi Cultural class designed for boys. Curriculum for this class is deliberately selected to be culturally relevant, rigorous, standards-based, and filled with opportunities to participate in discussions that culturally relevant.
