Description:
Eastern World Studies is typically a seventh-grader's first exposure to Social Studies. It involves first raising awareness of institutions and customs in every part of the world, consideration of the land and people on the opposite side of the world, the differences that cause divisions, and finally similarities that unite us. Students will be required to think through the problems that the world faces and encouraged to consider the multitude of perspectives hosted by the corners of Earth on which we focus.

Description:
The social studies department recognizes that a gifted educational program is part of the total school environment and is reflected in our core values. We will challenge the students academically. We will provide intellectual opportunities that reflect best educational strategies. We will improve and articulate the pre AP program to adapt with the changing learning styles and technologies. Our vision is to expect Belzer students to rise above superficial context and demonstrate a better understanding of concepts. We want pre AP students to see relationships in the classroom and the world that contribute to educational leadership for Lawrence Township and for life. The goal of this course is to prepare students for advanced placement classes at the high school.
