Week of November 2
Unit 2 will tell us about the Trinity, which is one God in three Divine persons - God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Read through Chapter 4. The reading about St. Patrick shows us a great example of how God can be one made up by 3 persons.
Key words to look for: Creed, mystery, and Trinity
There is an activity at the bottom of page 93 that asks tells you to write a letter asking someone about your Catholic faith. Instead of a letter, I would like you to talk about it with your family...maybe at dinner or in the car. Ask someone a question that you may have.
Week of October 26
Please read Chapter 3. This is the last chapter in Unit 1.
Jesus helps us to understand that our families belong to a bigger family we call the Church. Learning how to love each other in our family helps us to learn how to love other people in the world. God uses our families to teach us about love.
Our family members teach us how to care for people and things, why we should respect ourselves and people around us, and how we can help one another.
Who is the mother of the church? How can you honor Mary?
For fun: work on the crossword puzzle on page 83 for a review. I will give you an answer key to help you out

Week of October 19
Please read Chapter 2.
Think about why being a part of the church community is so important.
It's so much fun to meet new friends and have fun while you are in your church community. You can meet new people through PREP, going to church, being an altar server, playing sports through CYO, going to Vacation Bible School, and many others. Do you have other ways you meet people through our parish?
Think about the ways that Brother Andre helped his community in the chapter.
Church - the community of all baptized people who believe in God and follow Jesus.
Sacred Tradition - God's Word handed down verbally through the Apostles and bishops.
Don't forget to keep reading over the Apostle's Creed. I would love for everyone to be able to learn this prayer by Thanksgiving.
Week of October 11
Welcome to 3rd grade PREP! I hope you had an amazing Communion weekend.
We will be working to learn the Apostles' Creed this year. It is such an important prayer. It is a summary of the Apostles' beliefs and it is used to start the rosary.
Homework: Please read Chapter 1. Make sure you look at the key words.
