Talk on :
It's Never Too Late for Anything
Date & Time:
29-10-2021 (Friday) @ 11:00 am
Abstract of the talk:
“It’s never too late for anything” was my motto through thick and thin. 19-year-old extroverted and an optimistic learner always wanted to explore all different fields possible and then make a decision of what my choice of the stream was going to pick. Learning is always an essential part of a person's growth and just like on others, so did it have a huge impact on my growth as well. I worked with a couple of SaaS companies as a UI/UX designer and as a data analyst but it wasn't my cup of tea, but then I fell in love with Entrepreneurship and marketing.
And that is exactly what we are going to have a conversation about. The intent of this conversation will be to help individuals to reflect upon themselves, and to help them ‘Figure out’ what I have learned as a college student with a small dream, as an intern, as a freelancer, and as an entrepreneur.
"Fun-filled conversation about figuring out, learning, and adapting to situations.”
Report:
The fourth EML was delivered by Mr. Yuvan Aravind, Third Year Student of the IT Department.
Yuvan’s talk was focused on marketing and building a dropshipping business model. He elaborated on the evolution of the OneDrop firm based on this model. It offers a middle-man service for easing the customer orders to the outsourced manufacturers and demands no investment. He shared the significance of the word-of-mouth marketing strategy applied to his business. He also discussed and emphasized the role of the LinkedIn platform in reaching out to the giant marketing corporates that fetched him good internship opportunities (@ Redbull). He advocated the trial-and-error model for selecting the products to be marketed and mentioned the need for visuals (insta) and product catalogs to captivate clients. He also stressed the practice of learning every day and sharing the ideas without fear as it will help to bring the idea from paper to product.
Conclusively Yuvan and Tushar (Co-Founder of OneDrop) shared their tips of having quality check policies and working on the nook and corner of the business. The OneDrop team conveyed the significance of understanding that making mistakes and learning from them is part of any business. “It is better to make mistakes at the beginning and consider it as a good start”.
