Independent Reading

Independent / Self-Selected Reading

10-15 minutes daily

Emergent readers need opportunities to independently browse books to practice reading behaviors they have observed! Include low tech books, digital books, books on topics of interest to the students, custom books, alphabet books, rhyming books, etc.

Goal = have 20 or more boooks PER STUDENT in your physical and/or digital library
