What you need to know:
Prerequisite Band 9 or permission from the instructor
Band 10 rehearses every other day and is a full year course.
Students will work to develop the following skills and musical components: technique, rhythm, aural skills, interpretive concepts, theory, and historical knowledge.
Performances that are part of the curriculum will include: a fall concert, Saskatoon Music Festival and spring concert at Walter Murray.

What you need to know:
Open to Gr. 10, 11, and 12 students. No musical background required.
Through the rehearsal and performance of a wide variety of quality repertoire students focus on the fundamentals of choral singing by developing enhanced vocal technique, musical literacy, ear training and listening skills.
Performances may include evening concerts, music festivals, an optional overnight choir trip, and other community performances. Participation at festivals and public concerts is expected from the students.
This class can be taken as an eleventh class. Choral 9, 10, 20 & 30 is non-semestered and runs from 7:45 - 8:45 am, three mornings a week, all year.

What you need to know:
Explore a variety of dance styles including, but not limited to hip hop, contemporary, and jazz.
Students will choreograph and perform dances in settings outside of the classroom (pep rallies, basketball games, etc).
Students will explore dance related career paths, learn about historical and cultural events expressed through dance, and respond to dance compositions and investigate dances from a variety of Indigenous cultures.
What you need to know:
An exciting introduction to the world of drama and theatre.
The main focus of this course is on personal development and acting skills.
Units of study include mime, improvisation, movement, speech, and script study.
Students will develop a broad range of acting skills and confidence on and off the stage.

Guitars and materials are provided.
Students will learn to read and write tablature, traditional notation and chords as well as create their own music through composition and songwriting.
Performance and technical skills will be developed through playing many styles of guitar with an emphasis on pop, rock, blues and classical.
There is an emphasis on developing guitar techniques as well as exploring a variety of cultural and historical aspects related to the guitar.

What you need to know:
Students will develop self-expression and technical skills through:
Four major areas (drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking)
Several genres (still life, portraiture, figure, landscape, nature, architecture, nonobjective)
Variety of media (graphite, coloured pencil, charcoal, conte, pastel, ink, acrylic, watercolour, clay, wire, glass, paper/cloth mache).
Students will be introduced to informal class critiques, complete sketchbook exercises outside of class time and be given an opportunity to complete an independent project of their choice.
Studio-based course that explores of a wide variety of techniques and materials, which may include pencils, ink, watercolours, acrylics, collage, printmaking, clay, glass fusing, and copper.
Learn about local art, Saskatchewan art history, and participate in critique.
Become familiar with the creative process and learn to see as an artist.
Class fee covers most supplies; students must provide their own drawing pencils, eraser, paintbrushes, and a sketchbook no smaller than 8x10.

Students will work to develop the following skills and musical components: technique, rhythm, aural skills, interpretive concepts, and historical knowledge.
Performances that are a part of the curriculum will include: a fall concert, Saskatoon Music Festival, and spring concert at Walter Murray

An elective will be offered every other day, this year the course is Psychology 30 -N
What you need to know:
Through the rehearsal and performance of a wide variety of quality repertoire, students focus on the fundamentals of choral singing by developing enhanced vocal technique, musical literacy, ear training and listening skills.
Performances may include evening concerts, music festivals, and optional overnight choir trip, and other community performances. Participation at festivals and public concerts is expected from the students.
This class can be taken as an eleventh class at 7:45 am on alternating days all year.

Students will choreograph and perform dances in settings outside of the classroom (pep rallies, basketball games, etc.)
Students will explore dance related career paths, learn about historical and cultural events expressed through dance, and respond to dance compositions and investigate dances from a variety of Indigenous cultures.

This course is intended to help you develop motivation, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
Drama 20 builds on the Drama 10 course and focuses on continued personal development and acting skills accomplished through group building, speech, movement, character development, improvisation, self-exploration, and script studying.

Guitar and materials are provided.
This course will continue to develop skills and concepts from Guitar 10 with a greater focus on individual performance and intermediate playing techniques.
Although the primary focus is performance on the guitar, students will be expected to expand their ability to read and write tablature, traditional notation and chords as well as create their own music through composition and songwriting.
There is an emphasis on developing guitar techniques as well as exploring a variety of cultural and historical aspects related to guitar.

Studio-based course that builds on the skills developed in Visual Art 10, which may include pencils, ink, oil pastels, watercolours, acrylics, clay, glass fusing, and copper.
An emphasis on in-depth work and creative process.
Learn about culture, world art history, and the work of international artists.
Class fee covers most supplies; students must provide their own drawing pencils, eraser, paintbrushes, and a sketchbook no smaller than 8x10.

Drama 30 builds on the Drama 10 and 20 courses helping students to develop motivation, self-discipline, and self-confidence, focusing on projects in acting, directing, writing, and producing.
The dramatic components of speech, movement, character development, improvisation, and exploration of various theatre styles throughout history will be examined.

This course will continue to develop skills and concepts from Guitar 20 with a greater focus on individual performance and advanced playing techniques.
Although the primary focus is performance on the guitar, students will be expected to continue to expand their ability to read and write tablature, traditional notation and chords.
There is an emphasis on developing guitar techniques as well as exploring a variety of cultural and historical aspects related to the guitar.

Students are encouraged to develop independence, creativity and originality in their work.
