We’re excited to share an opportunity that can help elevate your instructional practices and integrate technology seamlessly into your classroom. Chris Hyde - our district’s Apple Professional Learning Specialist - is returning to SGASD to offer personalized coaching sessions tailored specifically for your classroom.
These coaching sessions are designed to provide you with one-on-one support and guidance on effectively using Apple products and tools in your teaching. Whether you're a seasoned technology user or just starting to incorporate digital resources, these sessions will help you unlock the full potential of Apple's educational offerings.
During the coaching sessions, the Apple Professional Learning Specialist will work closely with you to:
Understand your specific goals and teaching style;
Explore a wide range of Apple apps, resources, and teaching strategies;
Develop an engaging lesson that integrate technology seamlessly;
Co-teach the lesson with you in your classroom!
The Coaching Visit will span over two days:
Day 1: The APL Specialist and your Instructional Technology Specialist will meet with you during your planning time to review your goals and come up with a lesson idea for the following day.
Day 2: The APL Specialist and your Instructional Technology Specialist will return to help lead the lesson in your classroom. The APL Specialist will do all the work to prepare for the lesson - no extra work for you!
By participating in these coaching sessions, you'll gain valuable insights, practical tips, and the confidence to harness the power of technology in your classroom. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your teaching skills, stay up-to-date with the latest educational trends, and create a more dynamic and engaging learning environment for your students.
Absolutely not! Instructional Coaching is ALWAYS non-evaluative. We typically let your building administrators know that you will be participating in APL Instructional Coaching and invite them to come see/particpate in the activity, but it is NOT considered a walkthrough or evaluation and your adminstrator does not get a report of how the lesson went.
Teachers that have participated in the past have great things to say about APL Instructional Coaching. Check out some of what they had to say below!
Our next APL Instructional Coaching sessions will be held Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10.
Tuesday, April 9 - Chris and your Instructional Technology Specialist will meet with you during your planning time to review your goals and come up with a lesson idea for the following day.
Wednesday, April 10 - Chris and your ITS will return to help lead the lesson in your classroom.
