What is Canva?
Canva is a user-friendly graphic design platform where students can create stunning visual projects for class presentations, group projects, school clubs, and more right from their iPad. With Canva, students can choose from tons of beautifully designed templates, images, graphics, and fonts to design eye-catching posters, social media posts, brochures, book covers, flyers, infographics, animations, and other visuals even if they don't have any design experience. It's the perfect tool for students to make their academic work and extracurricular projects stand out with a polished, professional look.

Both students and teachers should log into Canva through the Clever portal or Clever App on the iPad.

What is Clever?
Clever is our main portal where students will go to log into most apps and websites. Teachers can also add links to websites used in your class to help make the login process smoother for students.

When logging in, use your entire username@sgasd.org and your district password.

What is DRC Insight?
DRC Insight is the application students use for state testing, including PSSA, Keystone, CDT, and WIDA Assessments.

What is Explore Learning?
Explore Learning has three different components used across the district.
Reflex: This program is used by grades 2-6 math teachers to help with math fact fluency.
Frax: This program is used by grades 5 and 6 math teaches to help with to help with fraction fluency.
Gizmos: This program is used by high school science teachers for virtual simulations.

Accessing Google Chrome
MacBook: Google Chrome is installed on all MacBook computers by default. You may get notifications from Mosyle to updtae Chrome. If you do not complete these updates within 5 days, they will take effect automatically.
Teacher iPads: Teachers can download Chrome for their iPads from the district's App Portal.
Student iPads: At this time, Chrome is not available on student iPads except for specific situations. If you have a reason your students may need to use Chrome, please reach out to your Instructional Technology Specialist.

What is IXL?
IXL is a comprehensive personalized learning program where students can master over 8,500 skills across math, language arts, science, social studies, and Spanish. With a wide range of engaging interactive questions, individualized guidance, and fresh content added regularly, students can practice topics at their own pace while getting instant feedback and support.

What is Nearpod?
Nearpod is an interactive learning platform where students can actively participate in lessons from any device. With Nearpod, teachers can deliver quizzes, polls, videos, activities, and more directly to student devices to promote engagement. Students can collaborate with classmates, answer questions at their own pace, draw, take quizzes, and even submit work - all in one place.
Logging Into Nearpod
Teachers should go to nearpod.com/login and click the Sign In With Google Button. Use your @springgrovesd.org account to login.
Students do not need to login. They will go to nearpod.com/student and enter the code that is generated when you start your lesson.

What is Nearpod?
Notability is a note taking app for iPad and MacBooks that both Teachers and Students can use. Teachers can connect to their Google Drive, iCloud, or OneDrive and pull documents they have created into Notability. This gives them the opportunity to project and write on the documents in real time with their students. Teachers can also create templates and share with students for them to complete. Students have added annotation abilities within Notability. It can also be turned back into the Teachers.Â

What is Office 365 / OneDrive / Common & Private Drives?
These terms refer to our Microsoft-based cloud storage options:
Office 365: This refers to the entire suite of Office applictions, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, etc.
OneDrive: This is the name of Microsoft's storage platform. You can access this on the web or through the app on your MacBook.
Common & Private Drives: These are storage locations the district uses for files that need to be shared among different staff members. These are only available on the web.
Logging Into Office365
To access all features on the web, go to www.office.com and login using your @sgasd.org email address and district password.
To access OneDrive on your MacBook, open your Finder and click the OneDrive tab on the left side. You can also open your Launchpad and look for OneDrive.

What is Outlook?
Outlook is the district's primary email program.
Accessing Outlook
You can access Outlook on any device.
Through the Web (Webmail): Go to outlook.office.com and login using your entire @sgasd.org email account and district password.
On Your MacBook: Look for the Outlook app in the Dock or Launchpad
On Your iPad: Find the Outlook app on your iPad home screen. This shoudl be already installed.
On Your Personal Mobile Device: Download the Outlook app from your device's app store.

What is Sapphire?
Sapphire is our distric's Student Information System (SIS), which houses all student records and official grades.
Accessing Sapphire
Teachers should access Sapphire by clicking the link on the staff website or going directly to sapphire.sgasd.org and choosing the desired Sapphire program. Once at the login screen, choose the Login with Azure button and login using your entire @sgasd.org email address and district password.
Students should access Sapphire by clicking the link on the students & families page of the district website or going directly to sgasd-sapphire.k12system.com/CommunityWebPortal/Welcome.cfm. Students should login with their district username and password.

What is Schoology?
Schoology is our district's Learning Management System (LMS) or Digital Home Base for grades 3-12.
Accessing Schoology
From a Web Browser: Navigate to sgasd.schoology.com and login using your district username and password.
From the iPad App: Search for Spring Grove Area School District, then choose the Go to SSO button that pops ups. Login using your district username and password. Please view this document for more detailed directions.

What is Sora?
Sora is our district's digital library where students can check out e-books and audio books right on their iPad.
Accessing Sora
Open the Sora app on your iPad search for Spring Grove Area School District. At the login page, use your district username and password to login.

What is Zoom?
Zoom is the video conferencing platform used by the district for virtual meetings and virtual-learning at-home days.
Accessing Zoom
Teachers & Staff: You will access Zoom in a different way depending on what device you are using. Please view these detailed directions for logging in.
Students do not log into Zoom. They must be provided a link to join a meeting. NOTE: Students can ONLY join a Zoom meeting hosted by a Spring Grove staff member.
