This is the start of my 14th year as a music teacher! All my years have been serving the kids here at Gallardo Elementary! The best part of my job is seeing everyone grow physically and socially. In addition, I have had the huge opportunity to get to know many families over many years. I'm excited for the day when I can see all the kids in person and see how everyone has grown.

I was born and raised on the south side of San Antonio, Go Bobcats!! Music was always a huge part of the house I grew up in. I can still remember my brothers blasting some tunes as we got ready for school. My siblings (4 brothers and 1 sister) all had a musical talent. After high school I went on to study Graphic Design in Waco. Two years later I went on to study music at San Antonio College and then finished my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The Art Room Teacher at Gallardo Elementary

I have a Bachelor's of Science from Texas State University with a minor in Art. I have been teaching since 2009. The first 7 years I was a pre-K early childhood teacher and I have been here at Gallardo teaching Art 1st-5th grade since 2016. I have been involved in after school art programs for GT students and STEAM club. I try to enter my students in as many art contest as I can. They love to get medals and be recognized for their talents. My Vision statement is for every child to find something about art that they love and take a little of everything we do into the world to make it a more colorful and beautiful place.
