Mrs. Cindi Cantu is a passionate teacher who enjoys working with early childhood students. For the past 16 years Mrs. Cantu worked primarily with Pre-Kindergarten and First grade students at Freedom and Gallardo Elementary Schools as well as Menchaca Early Childhood Center. Mrs. Cantu believes that children CAN learn and need a safe and loving place to learn and grow; so she works to create a risk free learning environment where students can engage confidently in their learning. Mrs. Cantu's hard work has gamered her a Teacher Certification for Early-Childhood-4th grade, a Master Reading Teacher Certification and a Reading Specialist Certification.This school year (2021-2022) is Mrs. Cantu's 17th year teaching and first year as the Reading Specialist for Gallardo Elementary School. In addition to serving the Southside Community, Mrs. Cantu is a proud Cardinal community member and a parent of 3 Cardinals, she is often at the football games on Friday night cheering on the Mighty Cardinals and the Mighty Cardinal Band!
