Claudia Hidalgo
Technology Lab Aide
I started as a volunteer for Southside ISD and the community and continued to do so for the past 14 years. In 2015, I offically joined the Gallardo family as a Substitute Teacher. I obtained my Paraprofessional Certification in 2018 and became the Technology Lab Aide for Gallardo Elementary. I love working with the students and watching them grow year after year.
I am blessed with 3 boys. My first two are Southside graduates and my youngest is currently in 9th grade.
My favorite past time/hobbies are spending time with my boys, reading books, working on puzzles, and spending time in my garden.

Darlin Trevino
Special Ed Aide
Hello, my name is Mrs. Trevino. I began teaching as a Paraprofessional here at Gallardo Elementary one year ago and I absolutely love what I do. As a teenage student in high school I found myself naturally gravitating to my peers who had special needs. I joined the cardinal club which gave me the opportunity to follow along to the special olympics, I spent the majority of my junior and senior year lunch break in the SPEC ED classroom observing and socializing with whomever would talk to me. I then went off to college and majored in Psychology , because my goal was to become a counselor for younger children.
When all my children began attending school, I found myself having nothing to do for 8 hours a day while my children were in school. That is when I decided it was time to look for work. Southside was my first choice! I love all children so it was a natural choice. I am very grateful to be here at Gallardo, this doesn't feel like "work" and I hope to see our students very soon.

Laura M. Martinez
Special Ed Aide
Hello, I 'm Laura Martinez, and I have worked as a paraprofessional at Gallardo for 6 years. I obtained my paraprofessional certification in 2014. My first 2 years here, I was the bilingual aide for kindergarten and Pre-K, then I got the opportunity to work as a Special Ed aide. I love my job, I see it as an opportunity to learn something new every day.
I love spending time with my family and close friends. I'm the oldest of 6, me and 5 boys. We all love the outdoors. Personally I love to travel, especially to Mexico City and San Miguel Allende Guanajuato. I love winter time, going to concerts, bike riding, and camping at state parks, especially Garner State Park.
