Recibi me licenciatura de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio en Estudios Interdisciplinarios con Concentracion Bilingue en el 2013. Tengo una hija y un hijo, una perrita chiweenie, una gatita, un hamster y dos cangrejos. Mis pasatiempo incluyen jugar juegos de mesa, hacer caminatas, pescar y leer.

I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Interdisciplinary Studies with a chiweenie dog, a cat, a hamster, and two crabs. My hobbies include playing board games, hiking, fishing and reading.

Hello friends, my name is Ms. Ortegon. I am a 5th grade teacher at Gallardo Elementary. Teaching is one of my passions. I am a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio in 2019. I am the second oldest of 6 in my family. I also work at an HEB, in a specialty cheese shop. I LOVE to travel, sing, dance, read, the iconic Abraham Lincoln, our own fascinating moon, and helping others. I spend most year teaching 5th grade, but I have worked with Southside as an assistant for several years. Most Gallardo students know me from playing sports with them in gym class. Happy to be a fellow Southside Cardinal!

Hey, y'all!
My name is Ms.Vega and I am so excited to be your 5th-grade teacher. I am a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. I am a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education in ESL instruction. I'm also working on my master's in Learning, Design and Technology through UTSA and will graduate in December 2022!
Fun facts and hobbies: I have one older sister and brother. I love Dr. Pepper, sunflowers, and Italian food! My favorite color is yellow. I love to read and spend time with my family. It's a goal of mine to visit every MLB stadium as well as every National Park.
I am originally from South Africa, and I have a Bachelor's in Business from Georgia Southwestern State University. I live directly behind Randolph AFB with my husband and daughters age 15 and 11. We recently moved to Texas from Georgia, and I honestly wish we had moved sooner, we love the people and we love the lifestyle that San Antonio has to offer. I have always wanted to become a teacher, only I was not sure how to make that dream a reality. Joining a school district such as Southside ISD is a dream come true. I am so excited to serve our students and my colleagues, and to grow as an educator.
Hello Cardinal families I am very excited about our year. I can't wait to get to know all of you. I have been teaching for 20 years. I have taught many different grades during my teaching career. I am so excited to be back in 5th grade. It is one of my favorite grades to teach. I recently moved to San Antonio, Texas from Henderson, Nevada. I have two four legged fur babies. Some of my favorite things to do are; baking cookies and creating new sweet treats, reading mysteries, making crafts, camping with family and friends, and family game night with my girls. I know that we will have a fantastic year together. We will grow and soar together.
