Know Emergency Procedures
Locate the fire extinguisher before starting your job.
Ensure there is a spray bottle full of water ready to the right of the laser cutter for small fires.
If the material catches fire, stop the laser cutter immediately. If the fire is small, extinguish with the spray bottle. Otherwise, extinguish with the fire extinguisher.
If the machine is not operating as expected, stop the laser cutter immediately.
Set Up Proper Ventilation
Make sure the external fan is on, and set up each valve as shown in the demo video.
Close the hood before starting the cut.
Monitor the Process
Always supervise your job while it is cutting.
Avoid staring directly at the laser head while it is in operation.
Set Up the Job
Use the outside kiosk to set up your laser cutting job.
Upload your .SVG file to the Design tab in the Trotec software.
Check Design Colors
Ensure the design only includes:
Red for cutting
Black for raster engraving
Blue for vector engraving
Prepare the Laser Cutter
Place your material on the laser cutter bed.
Position the laser head where you want the cut to start.
Create & Position the Job
On the kiosk outside the back room, create your job.
Align your design with the laser head’s position, marked by the cross mark in brackets.
Ensure you have selected the correct material in the software.
Start the Cut
Queue your job and return to the laser cutter.
On the main kiosk, press Play to start cutting.
Always observe your design while it is cutting for safety.
Clear Smoke & Fumes
Allow the fan to run with the hood closed for at least 10 seconds after cutting to clear away smoke.
Sort Scrap Materials
Return large reusable scraps to the designated shelving for future use.
Place small or unusable scraps in the appropriate waste bins.
