Know Emergency Procedures
Be aware of the stop button’s location before operating the machine.
Wait for the Machine to Stop
Do not adjust or remove your work until the drill press has completely stopped.
Use the Chuck Key Properly
Never leave the chuck key in the drill chuck.
Make adjustments and remove the key before starting the machine.
Keep Hands Safe
Do not place your hands under the stock being drilled.
Do not stop the rotation of the chuck or spindle with your hand.
Never hold your work with your hands while drilling.
Always Monitor the Drill Press
Never leave the drill press running unattended.
Insert the Drill Bit
Use the chuck (located in the drill press components bin) to insert the desired drill bit securely.
Secure Your Workpiece
Use a clamp or drill vise to hold your work in place.
Turn on the Drill Press
Press the green button on the front to start the machine.
Drill the Hole
Lower the drill by pulling the handles toward yourself.
Continue lowering until the drill has completely passed through the material.
Retract the Drill
Slowly raise the drill by rotating the handles in the opposite direction.
Turn Off the Machine
Press the red button on the front to stop the drill press.
Wait until the machine has completely stopped moving before removing your piece
Wood Scraps
Place all wood scraps in the wood scrap bin.
Drill Chuck
Return the drill chuck and drill bit to the drill press components bin.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Put away all PPE in its designated storage area.
